| Abstract:The notion of texture homogeneity is reviewed. Co-occurrence of pixel gray values is cited as an example of a homogeneity measure. Knowing how to compute the values of the co-occurrence matrices as a function of the Markov Random Field image model parameters allows us to subsume the co-occurrence criterion of homogeneity under the Markov Random Field definition. The values of the co-occurrence matrices for first-order, binary Markov Random Fields are calculated as function of the Markov Random field parameters. Experimental results are given to show the adequacy of the approximation. |
